He was a member of a small troupe of Deaf and hearing actors when he won his first professional role as a member of the Chorus in the Arena Stage production of The Miracle Worker. In 1999, Giordano had obtained his BA in English from Gallaudet University; by September 2001, he played the lead in the critically acclaimed Big River, which originated with Deaf West Theatre, in Los Angeles. Big River continued its journey, returning to Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre in the summer of 2003, retaining some of its original cast members from 2001 and 2002. Giordano remained with Big River for most of its year-long national tour (June 2004-June 2005) as well as its run in Japan, leaving only to complete filming on The Family Stone, in which he plays the gay deaf brother of lead actor Dermot Mulroney. He also plays the deaf brother of Ashton Kutcher's character in the 2005 film A Lot Like Love and can also be seen in 2008's Untraceable starring Diane Lane. He was recently onstage as Pippin at the Mark Taper Forum, and on film with Russell Crowe in The Next Three Days.

1I'm 27 and playing a 15-year old Huck Finn - miracles DO happen.
2[on living in New York City] "People are very flexible and open to new experiences by necessity, but there's the issue of time. They don't always necessarily want to take the time to communicate to me. Some people just don't get it. They think I'm foreign, by listening to my accent, or if I point at my eye and shake my head, they think I'm some nut. One-third of the city is insane, I hear. To be lumped into that category gives me hope of someday doing a revival of Cuckoo's Nest."
3I'd love to die an old actor. Maybe onstage in a final thrilling moment! OK, maybe not. But it's a dream, hey?
4The whole idea is to transcend the label 'deaf'. By God, you would never see newspapers say, 'Black actor Wesley Snipes'. Never! So why do that for us?
5Hearing and understanding are two very different things.
1He is of Italian descent.
2Attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.
