William Royce “Boz” Scaggs (created June 8, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Scaggs continues to compose, record music and tour. Scaggs took a long break from record and his next LP, Other Roads, failed to appear until 1988. Also in 1988, he started the San Francisco club, Slim’s, and stayed a co-owner of the site by 2008. His next solo release was the record Some Change in 1994. He garnered great reviews with Dig even though the CD, that has been released on September 11, 2001, got less attention than it could have received in a calmer time. In May 2003, Scaggs released But Beautiful, an assortment of jazz standards that debuted at #1 on the jazz chart. In 2008 he released Speak Low, which he described in the liner notes as “a kind of progressive, experimental attempt … along the paths of a few of the thoughts that Gil Evans investigated.” During 2004, the musician released a DVD and a live 16 track CD which was recorded August 2003 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Following a rest in record, in 2008, he undertook a string of shows throughout the United States. Two years followed when the performer started a tour with Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald. In addition ,, Boz’s following record Memphis was released several months later in March 2013. It had been recorded for the reason that Southern American city in the Royal Studios.
