1Was diagnosed with breast cancer the year after her amputation. She had a right mastectomy soon after.
2Was a diabetic.
3Developed a blood clot in her left leg in April of 1976. Attempts to remove the clot failed and her left leg was amputated, above the knee.
4Suffered two heart attacks while recovering from her leg amputation.
5Voted entertainer of the year and female comedy star of the year by the American Guild of Variety Artists.
6Her problems with blood clots led to her death on Aug. 2, 1978 from pulmonary embolism.
