Robert Laing Noble, Template:Post-nominals (February 3, 1910 – December 11, 1990) was a Canadian physician who was involved in the discovery of vinblastine.Born in Toronto, Ontario, he received his M.D. from the University of Toronto in 1934 and a Ph.D. in 1937 from the University of Western Ontario.In the 1950s helped with the discovery of vincristine and vinblastine, widely used anti-cancer drugs.In 1997, he was inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. In 1988, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. In 1984, he was awarded the Gairdner Foundation International Award.The Robert L. Noble Prize is named in his honour.

His sister (Cherie) was a soloist and charter member of the company. Brother (Gerard Jr) is a computer programmer.

Was a Sgt. in the Air Force during Vietnam. Started out as an Intelligence specialist. When asked what he did during the war, his standard response is "As little as humanly possible." Has a service connected disability from the VA from injuries sustained during his service in Southeast Asia.

Holds the rank of LtCol in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol) Goes on search and rescue missions with CAP as both aircrew and ground crew.

Goes to Mexico with "The Flying Samaritans" and "Liga: The Flying Doctors of Mercy" which provide free medical care to locals who otherwise would have none. Is a federally registered disaster responder with the American Red Cross.
