Long is 5’2 and weighs120pounds Nitata “Nia” Long was produced on October 30, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY, to mom Talita, who’s a teacher and print maker, and dad Doughtry “Doc” Long, a high school teacher and poet. Long is of Afro Trinidadian descent and her name, Nia, is among the seven days of Kwanzaa, which means purpose in Swahili.
Nia caught numerous bit parts on success shows including, Diff’rent Strokes, as well as in 1991, got her little screen big break starring as “Kathryn Speaks” on popular soap opera, Guiding Light.
