Shaukat Hussain Samrat (Urdu: شوکت حسین سمراٹ) best known by his screen name Pappu Samrat (Urdu: پپو سمراٹ) is an award winning Pakistani veteran choreographer. He has choreographed for music videos, stage shows and has done about more than seventy films including Mujhe Chaand Chahiye for which he won Nigar Award of Best Choreographer at 44th Nigar Awards and recently he has won "Best Choreographer" at 1st ARY Film Awards for Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. He is part of Pakistani famous choreographer's Samrat Family.
Pappu Samrat is the younger brother of Khannu Samrat. While Pappu is famous for his choreography of modern and folk dances, his elder brother Khannu Samrat is known for his classical training in Kathak and for his award winning videos with protégé Mehr Hassan. Both brothers have worked extensively for major stage shows, television and films. While they initially worked as a team, eventually given their distinct individual styles they began working individually.
