Arthur Storch (June 29, 1925 — March 5, 2013) was an American actor and Broadway director. A life member of The Actors Studio, Storch founded Syracuse Stage in 1974. Productions Storch directed included:Tribute, on BroadwayThe Comedy of Errors, at Syracuse StageParadise is Closing Down, at Syracuse StageStorch also played the role as the Psychiatrist in the 1973 horror film The Exorcist.
[re his notes to Eugène Ionesco's on his play 'Hunger and Thirst'] I had doubts about the second act that I read, and I told Ionesco that when I saw him in Paris. He got up, went into another room and came back with a script. 'How do you like this second act?' he asked. I did.

He was the youngest of three sons of baker Sam Storch and his wife Bessie. After graduating from Brooklyn's Thomas Jefferson High School, he lied about his age to enlist in the Army early on in World War II. Later earned his bachelor's from the New School for Social Research and studied drama at the Actors Studio under Lee Strasberg.
