Robert grew up in the East End of Toronto in the 1960's in the Pape and Queen area. Growing up in a diverse and challenging home of 5 children, he being the second youngest, Robert learned to play guitar at a very young age and to express himself artistically due to the aesthetic tutelage of many uncles, aunts and indeed his immediate family. ...
Robert is slowed with crippling arthritis to his Back and legs as well as pain resulting from much organ tissue damage that was acquired as a child from a Battery plant that polluted his neighborhood with Lead and Cadmium.

Robert was also the head of his class at the Toronto Recording Workshop and later worked as a recording Engineer in a 24 track analogue studio before the business went bust due to the transition from Analogue Tape to Digital in the late 80's and early 90's in Toronto.

Robert made the Dean's list as an adult student at Trent University getting his Bachelar of Arts Honours degree. He also attained enough credits to specialize in either Cultural Studies or Classical HIstory.
