James Claude Wright, Jr. (born December 22, 1922), usually known as Jim Wright, is a former Democratic U.S. Congressman from Texas who served 34 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and was the Speaker of the House from 1987 to 1989. Wright resigned from the House in 1989 because of a scandal.
At 16, was the second youngest to enlist in the Marines during World War II.

First met John Wayne when Jim was an extra on The Fighting Seabees (1944). After that, was longtime friends with "The Duke" and his family from then on. Appeared in other Wayne films, like The Alamo (1960), where Jim had acting and stunt work.
