I had never been in a situation of this scale before; it was pretty nerve-wracking. I had never received this kind of attention. I was just completely overwhelmed when they had the first press conference before we'd even started shooting The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). I remember walking in just expecting a few journalists to talk to me but instead it was this giant room crammed full of journalists from around the world. Suddenly I realized just how big the Bond world was. I was pretty intimidated and beleaguered. But Roger Moore had handled this in the past and was pretty cool about it all. To date (2007) Adams is the only actress to play a title role in a Bond movie which she did in Octopussy (1983). Also happens to be the only woman in the series to play two different leading characters: Andrea Anders in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) and the aforementioned title role.
