Mariano Stabile was born in 1888 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. He was an actor, known for The Last Station (2009), Amami, Alfredo! (1940) and Salzburg, die Festspielstadt (1939). He died in 1968 in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
He was the most famous Falstaff in Verdi's opera of the same name. "Falstaff" was one of conductor Arturo Toscanini's favorite operas and Stabile learned the role directly from him. Stabile first sang the role in 1921.
