Jeffrey Leonard "Jeff" Jarrett (born July 14, 1967) is an American professional wrestler, wrestling promoter and founder of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which he co-founded along with his father, Jerry, and more recently, Global Force Wrestling (GFW). He is well-known from his multiple runs in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Federation (WWF) during the 1990s.A third-generation wrestler, Jarrett has held seventy-four championships in various promotions throughout his career. Within TNA, he is a former six-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion and is also a former four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and one-time AAA World Heavyweight Champion. He has also accumulated six additional world title reigns, being a three-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion, and a one-time AWF World Champion. He achieved notable championship success in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), becoming a six-time Intercontinental Champion (a record from 1999–2004), and one of four men to hold both the Intercontinental and European Championships simultaneously. He is the first wrestler to be a two-time King of the Mountain, and also won Mexican promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración's (AAA) Rey de Reyes tournament in 2004. Between the WWF, WCW, and TNA, Jarrett has held twenty-two total championships.

While still with USWA (United States Wrestling Assocation), Jarrett appeared at WWF(E) house that was running in Memphis. He made a challenge to then Champion Bret Hart for Hart's world title. The moment provided much controversy back then because a wrestler from an outside indy promotion challenging the WWF (E) world champion under those circumstances had never been done before. Jarrett even made more challenges and the weekly USWA TV show in Memphis.

In one of the most controversial moments in WCW, he allowed Hulk Hogan to pin him for the World title by lying down in the middle of the ring. After the match Vince Russo lashes out at Hogan for not co-operating with management. Russo declares that Jarrett & Booker Huffman (aka "Booker T") would wrestle for the NEW World title later that night.
