The reason I went to Las Vegas was because I was married and had a daughter and I wanted to grow up with my kid. I was married before and I didn't grow up with the kids. So I said 'I'm going to really be a father.' I did much better with this one because at least I stayed until my daughter was 12 years old. And that's why I worked Vegas, because I could stay in one spot.

Had a cameo appearance in 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil' as a porter who walks an imaginary dog. His only line, "Yessir. Patrick do like his morning walk".

Son of James Moody and Ruby Moody. He was raised in Newark, New Jersey. He played with the all African American Army Air Forces band during World War II and was discharged in 1946.

His musical career was disrupted by alcoholism twice in 1948 where he recovered in Paris, France until 1951 and again in 1958 after a fire destroyed a Philadelphia nightclub. He checked into the Overbrook psychiatric hospital in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

He is survived by his second wife, Linda Peterson McGowan; three sons, Patrick Moody, Regan Moody, and Danny McGowan Moodyl and a daughter, Michelle Moody Bagdanove; a brother, Louis Watters; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
