Peter Stursberg was born on August 31, 1913 in Chefoo, China as Arthur Lewis Peter Stursberg. He was married to Jessamy Anderson. He died on August 31, 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
He was CBC (Canada) Radio's correspondent during WWII. He witnessed the liberation of Holland from Nazi occupation, and was one of the last reporters in Hitler's bunker. He began his war coverage in Sicily in 1943, as Allied troops began their invasion.

He was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on May 6, 1996 for his services to communications in Canada.
