Better known as Duncan Guthrie who founded the charity Action Research and is the reason most British people had a polio vaccination. He spent most of his later life working for various charities and campaigns revolving around children and disability, as well as 3rd World aid. Duncan died in 1994 leaving a widow and three adult children.
Was an actor, journalist and playwright before the war and was then in the Special Operations Executive (SOE). He became involved in medical research in 1949.
