Julian Royce was born on March 26, 1870 in Bristol, England as Julian Gardener. He was an actor, known for Light (1915), Not Negotiable (1918) and Honour in Pawn (1916). He died on May 10, 1946 in London, England.
Royce was one of the first actors to portray Sherlock Holmes on stage, touring England with Charles Frohman's company in 1902. He was, however, overshadow by his rival for the part - H. A. Saintsbury - who made the role his own by 1904.
