Her killer Yaniv Malka, a 21-year-old ex-Israeli paratrooper, strangled her before hanging her by the neck in a a leather strap in the bathroom in an apartment in Islington, North London to make it look like she committed suicide. She had gone to see him to break off their three-month relationship. Malka was found guilty and jailed for life on 29 March 1999.
