Although he was a talented defensive tackle and cornerstone of the Cowboys championship teams of the '90s, Leon is best remembered for two infamous blunders. The first one took place in Super Bowl XXVII against the Buffalo Bills when Lett recovered a fumble and decided to show off and not tuck the ball away. Don Beebe, sprinting from behind, forced the ball out of Lett's hands just short of the end zone, resulting in the ball going out of bounds and a touchback. Although the Cowboys were ahead comfortably and easily won the game, the play is still constantly replayed on ESPN and other sports networks today. The second blunder, unlike the first one, actually cost the Cowboys a win. It occurred on a snowy Thanksgiving Day game in 1993 against the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys blocked a field goal which would have ended the game if none of their players touched the ball. Lett, unaware of this, dove on the ball and fumbled it. The Dolphins recovered it and kicked a successful field goal to win the game.
