1January 1972, first week in New York City, first Broadway audition, landed an understudy job in Promenade All! that starred Eli Wallach and Hume Cronyn.
21978, was called back with one other actor for an Illinois Bell commercial. The other actor went in first and absolutely rocked the room. Gales of laughter. James Staley then followed with his audition only to lose out to the previous actor. Three weeks later the same actor landed the role of a Space Alien on Happy Days named Mork. That other actor was Robin Williams. Two years later on the series James Staley played the Priest who married Mork & Mindy.
