Jack Mullaney (September 18, 1929 – June 27, 1982) was an American actor, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mullaney acted in several television series and films throughout his career.He appeared regularly as Johnny Wallace, the bellhop, in CBS's The Ann Sothern Show (1958–1961). In addition to Ann Sothern, his co-stars included Don Porter, Ann Tyrrell, Louis Nye, and Jesse White. He also portrayed Navy Lieutenant Rex St. John in NBC's Ensign O'Toole (1962–1963), starring Dean Jones.In the 1958 film South Pacific, based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein hit musical, he played a character affectionately known as the "Professor".He also appeared as murderer Bert Rockwood on episode #227 of Lee Marvin's M Squad, titled "The Vanishing Lady," which first aired April 3, 1959.His death, from a stroke, occurred in Hollywood, June 27, 1982. His sister was the heir to his estate.
He studied drama at HB Studio in Greenwich Village in New York City.

In his one of his first jobs, he provided audience laughs on the early sitcom Mister Peepers (1952). He was paid ten dollars a show for his abilities to lead a studio audience in laughter.

Was known as a dependable on time actor, who also had a quick mind for script changes, as witnessed on My Living Doll (1964) when he punched up many of the scripts on set.

Was a Hollywood history buff, in his down time on set he made it a practice to talk to elder studio staff. He also archived his own career with a mind to the future.
