Double bass player, formerly with the orchestras of Stan Kenton, Freddie Slack and Charlie Barnet. Free-lanced from the mid-40's and established a jazz club at the Hermosa Beach Lighthouse Cafe, which became a focal point for the West Coast jazz scene. Rumsey was also a member of the Lighthouse All stars who performed there during the 1950's.
