Edana Romney was born on March 15, 1919 in Johannesburg, South Africa as Edana Rubenstein. She was an actress and writer, known for Corridor of Mirrors (1948), Alibi (1942) and The Strangler (1941). She was married to John Woolf. She died on December 17, 2002 in Santa Maria, California, USA.
Trained as a dancer and first on stage in Johannesburg in 1930. Studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts from 1935 to 1936 and later joined the BBC Drama Repertory Company. She spent much of the latter part of her life working on the script for her film on Richard Burton. It was acquired by Richard Attenborough, but the film was never made.

It was announced in November 1949 that she would portray the French tragedienne Rachel in a film to be produced & directed by 'William Dieterle' with Zachary Scott co-starring; the project did not come to pass.
