Thomas Edward “Thom” Yorke (created 7 October 1968) is an English musician, vocalist, and songwriter. He could be the lead vocalist, lyricist, primary songwriter, guitarist and pianist of the groups Radiohead and Atoms for Peace, known for his falsetto singing fashion. As a multi instrumentalist, he mostly plays guitar and piano, but also plays synthesizer, bass guitar, and drums among other instruments, and makes usage of electronic equipment including samplers and drum machines; after Radiohead records credit him with playing “notebook”. In 2005, a survey organised by “Blender” and MTV2 saw Yorke voted the 18th best vocalist ever, as well as in 2008, he was ranked 66th in “Rolling Stone”‘s “100 Best Vocalists of All Time” list.
On A Friday restarted action in 1991 as the members were completing their degree classes. They signed to Parlophone and switched their name to Radiohead. Around now, Yorke said he “hit the self destruct button rather fast”; he drank heavily, which resulted in him cutting his hair away and being too intoxicated to perform onstage. Radiohead acquired notice with all the world-wide hit single “Creep”, which afterwards appeared on the group’s 1993 debut album Pablo Honey. Yorke acknowledged afterwards that the success had inflated his ego; he attempted to project himself as a rock star, which contained bleaching his hair and wearing extensions. He explained, “When I got back to Oxford I was excruciating … when you get any success you disappear up your own arse and lost it eternally.”
