Alex Pangman (born 1976) is a Canadian jazz singer based in Toronto, and is a specialist in the popular singing of the Great American Songbook. In 2011 she was signed to Justin Time Records for whom she recorded the album "33". With several National Jazz Award Nominations, videos, film, television, and radio appearances to her credit, she remains true to a classic melodic style of singing made popular by early jazz vocalists Connie Boswell and Kay Starr. She has collaborated and recorded with Bucky Pizzarelli, Denzal Sinclaire, Ron Sexsmith, Dick Sudhalter, Don Kerr, Drew Jurecka, Steve Briggs, Jeff Healey, Terra Hazelton, Kevin Clark, John Royen,and members of The New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings.Having inherited Cystic Fibrosis, she had a successful double lung transplant in November 2008 which reinvigorated her career and gave rise to her advocacy work for the cause of organ and tissue donation awareness in Canada. In the summer of 2013 while experiencing rejection, Pangman opened for Willie Nelson at Toronto's Massey Hall shortly before receiving her second double lung transplant in August of 2013. By March of 2014 she was recording music again.She is married to "Colonel" Tom Parker, with whom she also sings country music. They make their home in Toronto Ontario and are both active equestrians.She has led her Toronto band "Alex Pangman And Her Alleycats" since 1998.
