Cevin Daniel Soling (pronounced "KEV-in SO-ling") (b. August 5, 1966) is an American writer, filmmaker, philosopher, musician, music producer and artist. He has two graduate degrees from Harvard University and is a member of Mensa, the high IQ society.Soling writes articles and books in addition to producing documentaries, animations, short films, and feature films that engage in social critique. He is president of Spectacle Films and Xemu Records.He produced and directed The War on Kids which illustrates how American public schools are now modeled on the prison system. The film reveals that compulsory schools cannot be reformed because the problems are systemic.The New York Times proclaimed in a rave review that The War on Kids is “a shocking chronicle of institutional dysfunction.” The film was honored as the best educational documentary at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival, and received accolades from The New York Times, Variety, and The Huffington Post.
