Robert Emmett Fitzsimmons, known professionally as Emmett Fitzsimmons, is a former member of the NYPD police officer who has appeared in a number of films and television series, including Nurse Jackie, Burn Notice, and The Cape. He was awarded the "Combat Cross" by the Mayor of New York City.He is a member of SAG and AFTRA. He was awarded the "Best Short Film Made in Florida Competition" at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival for Confession a story he wrote, produced and directed. He is currently working as a freelance produce and production manager, and continues to perform. He founded Shots Fired Productions and Sweet Pea Theatrical Productions.
Emmett is an identical twin. His twin brother Thomas Joseph Fitzsimmons, a writer, wrote "Dead Eye," which is a story based on an actual gun battle that took place in the 43 Pct, the Bronx in which Emmett was awarded the New York City Police Department Combat Cross.
