Riley Elizabeth Weston is an actress and screenwriter from Pleasant Valley, New York. Weston became embroiled in a debate about ageism in Hollywood after it was discovered that she lied about her age to get work in the entertainment industry.
In 1997, Kramer changed her name to Riley Elizabeth Weston and began representing herself as an 18 year old (although she was 32 at the time). Entertainment Weekly had put her on its "It List" of the 100 most creative people in entertainment, seeing her as a "wunderkind".

Because she looked so young, in order to get work as an actress, she legally changed her name to Riley Weston and started claiming her date of birth as 1979 (instead of 1966). She began writing for television and films, and after being being featured in Entertainment Weekly magazine as a young up-and-coming 19-year-old writer on the Felicity television series, and making a half-million dollar deal with Disney, she was exposed.
