Ari Mikael Behn (né Bjørshol, born 30 September 1972) is a Norwegian author and husband of Princess Märtha Louise. He has written three novels, two collections of short stories and a book about his wedding. His 1999 short stories collection Trist som faen ("Sad as hell") sold in about 100 000 copies and received several favourable reviews. His books have been translated into Swedish, Danish, German, Hungarian, and Icelandic as well as French. In the spring of 2011, Ari Behn made his debut as a playwright with Treningstimen, directed by Kim Sørensen and staged at Rogaland Teater.
I love mountains and all that, but what sticks in my mind when I am gone from Norway, is the Østfold (part of Norway) landscape. The open cultural landscapes, breezy forests and yellow wheat fields, the granite, the summer, the coastal lines and the rounded bare rocks by the sea.

A once controversial writer and somewhat front-figure of a self-proclaimed new generation of cultural elite in Norway, for whom he proclaimed "We are the New Whine. The whine that will blow the bottles!". He did so standing on the table during a now legendary dinner at Oslo's respected Theatre Café, ending up getting thrown out of the establishment. He had his life turned upside down, when he according to some he "sold out" when he fell in love with Princess Märtha Louise and in 2002 married her and became a member of the Norwegian Royal Family.
