John Walton Beanland (3 November 1866 – 7 December 1943) was a building contractor and Mayor of Christchurch from 1936 to 1938.In 1935, he was awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal.Beanland Avenue in Spreydon, Christchurch is named in his honour.
