Nearly died when an escape trick he was performing for the taping of a television show went awry. He was tied to the tracks of the Desperado rollercoaster at Buffalo Bill's Casino-Resort in Primm, Nevada, with an unoccupied rollercoaster riding on the tracks, when he discovered he couldn't free himself from his bonds. He escaped, quite literally, at the last possible moment (he later commented, "That was STUPID!"). He frequently opens his stage shows by showing that clip on a projection screen.
